The primary responsibility of the Outside Plant Engineer is to help define a build project from job definitions, network integration needs, connection prints, overall path planning review to include pictures of site, node integration, areas resources to include buildings, ground and aerial assets and then to help get a “Project Packet” developed. As an Equipment Operator, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects.
In addition, you will:
- Operate various heavy machinery while building and maintaining aerial and underground cable systems
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
- Read and understand utility locates and above ground utility indicators to ensure the safety of the crew and a high level of productivity
About You:
- Safety is a part of your day to day
- You have experience operating heavy equipment on a construction site
- You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
- You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
- You enjoy getting your hands dirty with your team
MOS Codes 12N, 12V, 21E and 21J relate well to this position.
Pay range: $27-32/hr DOE
