The Telecom Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to product connection for cable or fiber to be placed for service, ensuring crew safety, keeping track of employee hours, completing daily & weekly safety briefings/inspections, and calling in project utility locations. In addition, this role reads blueprints of projects and is responsible for production. This position oversees the Line team and works with personnel from other departments.
Essential Functions
- Obtain all necessary licenses, permits, and materials for each job.
- Oversee, accomplish, and ensure all work quality related to each project and assume full responsibility for its standard and timeliness.
- Coordinate and delegate daily tasks to crew members related to digging and placing product.
- Gain entry to site buildings for work crew and call in utilities located at each project site.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections to ensure the crews work safely.
- Complete all paperwork in a timely manner.
- Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
- Track employee hours, turning them in on time.
- Drive, haul, and/or operate equipment to/from job sites to assist crews in completion of work.
- Keep the job(s) moving on time, clean up, and perform job restoration at the end of job.
- Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Degree, or equivalent with 8 years of telecommunications experience.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
- Possess a CDL Class A license.
- Understanding of advanced electrical principles, including knowledge of electricity and how to safely work around it.
- Knowledge of customer’s specifications, being able to read and interpret prints.
- Proficiency in all phases of line construction.
- Compliance with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to MasTec and/or project customer, whichever standard is higher.

- Experience in operating heavy equipment and general construction.

Job Summary
A Utility Locator identifies, locates, and marks the location of subsurface utilities to minimize accidental damage or disruption of service due to construction excavation activities, must be familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures. These activities include locating and marking existing City-owned underground infrastructure including: natural gas (including high-pressure gas and regulator stations and vaults), electric primary and secondary lines (including J-boxes and vaults), water lines, gas and water valves (including electronic markers), wastewater lines, and e-Streets fiber, reclaim water system, chilled water/district cooling system, storm water collection system, streetlights, and traffic signals (including fiber optic, telephone and loop components).
This position will be responsible for installation, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and testing GSM, UMTS, and LTE equipment at customer Cell Sites.

The Tower Technician III will install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. As a Tower Technician III, support will be provided in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Understands and implements MasTec Network Solutions (MNS) Health Safety and Environmental Policies. (Safety Manual).
- Understands and implements Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS and ANSI)
- Climbing towers and ladders at various heights
- Erection of various tower types
- Off-loading material and inventory
- Preparation and cleaning of sites
- Installation of new carriers on new build and existing towers
- Assists in tower erection using helicopters, cranes and gin poles
- Assists in the assembly of monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers
- Assists in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15-foot, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas
- Assists in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical waveguide.
- Assists in the installation of all aspects of ell site foundations, grounding and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable.
- Serve as a mentor to new less experienced technicians
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 4 years tower experience
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions per prints
- Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
- NWSA certification is a plus
- Industrial first aid
- Must have the ability to climb towers, be able to pick up 50 lbs., and capable of working up to 12 hours.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
Working Conditions
- Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary
- Must have the ability and be willing to travel extensively, as required for job related functions.
- Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands.
