The Tower Technician II will install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems.  As a Tower Technician II, support will be provided in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures.     Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities - Understands and implements MasTec Network Solutions (MNS) Health Safety and Environmental Policies. (Safety Manual). - Understands and implements Industry standards (OSHA, TIA10-48, NATE CTS and ANSI) - Climbing towers and ladders at various heights - Erection of various tower types - Off-loading material and inventory - Preparation and cleaning of sites - Installation of new carriers on new build and existing towers - Assists in tower erection using helicopters, cranes and gin poles - Assists in the assembly of monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers - Assists in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15-foot, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas - Assists in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical waveguide. - Assists in the installation of all aspects of ell site foundations, grounding and conduits, with electrical installations where applicable. - Serve as a mentor to new less experienced technicians - Other duties as assigned. Education and Training - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Skills and Experience - Minimum of 2 years tower experience - Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions per prints - Working knowledge of safety standards and regulations. - NWSA certification is a plus - Must have the ability to climb towers, be able to pick up 50 lbs., and capable of working up to 12 hours. - Must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions Working Conditions - Must be available to work weekends and/or nights, in extreme weather conditions if necessary - Must have the ability and be willing to travel extensively, as required for job related functions. - Must be able to work out of market or away from home as work demands.

A Utility Locator identifies, locates, and marks the location of subsurface utilities in order to minimize accidental damage or disruption of service due to construction excavation activities, and must be familiar with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures. These activities include locating and marking existing City-owned underground infrastructure including natural gas (including high-pressure gas and regulator stations and vaults), electric primary and secondary lines (including J-boxes and vaults), water lines, gas and water valves (including electronic markers), wastewater lines, and e-Streets fiber (including J-boxes and vaults), reclaim water system, chilled water/district cooling system, stormwater collection system, streetlights, and traffic signals (including fiber optic, telephone and loop components).    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Responsible for locating cables and verification in accordance with blueprints and designated plans. - Maintains company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines - Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: - As the Utility Locator usually works alone, an employee in this class is expected to exercise considerable initiative in moving efficiently through the day's work assignments. - Also, considerable independent judgment must be used, as the accuracy of the locate depends heavily upon how well the readings from the equipment are interpreted. - Directly responsible for all personal actions and any personnel, vehicles or equipment in the care, custody or control. - Report any personal or vehicle/equipment accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, corporate and assist in the investigation of same.    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: - High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) - Previous experience in underground utility construction a plus. - Possess general knowledge of construction practices. - Knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints, electronic quarter section, plat maps is required. - Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather (i.e. snow, rain, wind, etc.) and work overtime as required.   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: - Valid driver’s license. - Possess a valid CDL (A) license a plus. - Will be required to complete OSHA 10 hour course provided by MasTec.   PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Lifting up to 50 lbs. - Requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, twisting, reaching above shoulder level or working in confined spaces.   Don’t miss this great opportunity!
